What you will do
- Deliver high-quality assessments, planning, reviews, and case management in line with statutory and professional standards for Children in Need, Children with Disabilities, and fostering cases.
- Undertake specialist assessments in complex and high-risk situations.
- Provide expert analysis and professional judgement regarding children's needs, risks, and protective factors to improve practice standards.
- Collaborate with and challenge partner professionals to ensure children receive effective and timely support.
- Prepare and present expert reports and evidence to panels and courts.
- Share specialist knowledge to strengthen team effectiveness and contribute to service development.
- Advocate for children and young people's participation in service planning and development.
- Lead workforce development activity and support organisational learning.
- Champion effective information-sharing in line with relevant legislation, policies, and protocols.
- Promote anti-discriminatory and inclusive practice, ensuring individual needs remain central to service delivery.
- Maintain high-quality case records and promote best practice across the service.
- Use supervision for reflective practice and contribute to continuous team and service improvement.
- Mentor and support less experienced social workers and students on placement.
- Manage complex workloads independently, recognising when additional support is required.
