Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join Camden'sChildren with Disabilities (CWD) Team. You will support children with complex needs and their families, delivering high-quality statutory social work and contributing to positive, long-term outcomes through multi-agency collaboration.

What you will do
  • Manage a complex caseload includingChild in Need,Child Protection, andLooked After Childrencases.
  • Carry out statutory assessments in line with current legislation and local authority procedures.
  • Develop, review, and implement care plans and associated documentation.
  • LeadSection 47 enquiriesand facilitate strategy discussions where required.
  • Work collaboratively with education, health, and wider partner agencies to provide integrated support.
  • Advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices and needs are central to all decision-making.
  • Mentor junior social workers and students, promoting professional development and best practice.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and produce high-quality reports for meetings and court processes.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives within the CWD service.

Requirements

Essential:
  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA/MA Social Work).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Minimum of3 years post-qualified experiencein Children's Social Care, with a strong focus on Children with Disabilities.
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding, Child Protection, and legislation including theChildren Act.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.

Desirable:
  • Previous experience as a Senior Social Worker or Advanced Practitioner.
  • Familiarity with case management systems such asMosaicorLiquidlogic.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising staff.
