What you will do:
  • Manage a complex caseload involving Child in Need (Section 17) and Child Protection (Section 47) cases.
  • Undertake and oversee statutory assessments, risk assessments, and care planning, ensuring timely interventions.
  • Lead and contribute to strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and core group meetings.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for court, conferences, and reviews, including involvement in Public Law Outline (PLO).
  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to less experienced social workers.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Registration&Compliance:
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks:
    • Children Act 1989 and 2004
    • Working Together to Safeguard Children
    • Public Law Outline (PLO)
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
