Overhead Line Design Engineer, London

Role: Overhead Line Design Engineer Location: Remote + ad-hoc attendance in Manchester/Birmingham/London/Glasgow office Rate:£70 - £90 p/h (outside IR35) Duration: 6 – 12 months We are seeking high calibre Overhead Line Design Engineer to expand our clients established electrical transmission&distribution and generation businesses. The role will include a range of overhead line cable projects at transmission voltages typically 132kV to 400kV with Ultimate Clients being UK utilities. Ideally, we're looking for a candidate who can perform detailed design or, a consultancy role across the life cycle of an OHL system from concept stage through design, construction, operational maintenance and end of life works. Familiar with the UK industry, holds knowledge of UK standards and legislation.Role accountabilities: Create detailed design deliverables for packages of work Create technical specifications for designs, contractual documentation Undertake design analysis, review and approve the work of others to ensure quality of the deliverables Resolve technical problems, provide solutions, advise clients and stakeholders• Manage deliverables to timescales and budgetsDevelop personal and company profiles within the client base and wider industry Demonstrate advanced contractual awareness Manage a multidisciplinary team Support project delivery team, from a technical perspective Deliver safe and constructible designs through CDM awareness Lead design and deliverable innovations, which deliver value for company and clients alikeQualifications&Experience: Has proven experience of OHL system development, design, retrofitting and modification, from 11kV through 400kV Expert knowledge in the use of CAD packages such as PLS-CADD Proven track record in UK HSE legislation, Risk and CDM management You must have significant experience within the electricity industry, relating to OHL System designMinimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or, closely related discipline Ideally Hold and maintain chartered engineer status, with a recognised body Ideally Hold and maintain corporate membership of an appropriate leading UK engineering institution For more information on this role, please contact Scarlet Wilson.TPBN1_UKTJ
