Salary: £108 – £115 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Long Term, Full-time

Working Hours: 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD to join a supportive school in Finsbury Park.

This rewarding position involves providing tailored 1:1 support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex learning needs. You will play a vital role in helping students access learning, develop communication and social skills, and progress within a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for students with high and complex ASD needs
• Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development
• Assist students in accessing classroom activities and learning tasks
• Implement personalised support strategies and behaviour plans
• Build strong, positive, and trusting relationships with students
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
• Support communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD

• Minimum 1 year experience supporting children with high-needs ASD
• Recent primary and/or secondary school-based experience
• Experience supporting SEN students on a 1:1 basis
• Calm, patient, resilient, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
