Community Health Care Assistant - District Nursing Service Job Overview

We are recruiting a motivated Community Health Care Assistant to join the District Nursing Service in Enfield. The successful candidate will support patients at home, working closely with nursing staff and other health professionals. Excellent communication, teamwork and the ability to work independently are essential.

Main duties

• Provide support to elderly patients in the community under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
• Assist with nursing duties, including basic assessments and medication administration where appropriate.
• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care and maintain clear and accurate records.
• Work independently to manage a diverse and multicultural patient population.
• Support the team with administrative and organisational tasks.

Education & Professional Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualifications.
• Relevant experience or training in community or residential care settings.

Experience

• Experience working with patients in community or residential settings with health or social care needs.

Skills and aptitudes

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise and manage competing needs effectively.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude, willingness to embrace change and innovate.
