Apprenticeship Overview

Salary: £8.00 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds.

Working Week: (Hybrid working 2 days in the office) Monday to Friday – 9.00 – 5.00pm (1 hour lunch break)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Duration: 18 months

Marketing Assistant/Co‑ordinator Apprenticeship

What you’ll do at work

As a Marketing Apprentice within the Medical/Surgical business you will support the UK&I marketing team to deliver their marketing objectives. Responsibilities include:

• Product management of key brands (non‑focus portfolios to maintain sales revenue)
• Marketing support for Med/Surg – assistance to the marketing team.
• Managing key marketing SharePoint sites and the website.

Key Responsibilities

• Product management of core AWD portfolios: manage portfolios to meet objectives and sales targets, keep records, handle product updates, gather market feedback and competitor intelligence.
• Marketing support for Med/Surg: support campaign delivery, collate mailings and trial support, assist sales with materials, coordinate approvals, support cross‑functional projects.
• SharePoint sites, analytics & reporting: manage UK&I Hub for the marketing team, liaise with marketers to keep content live, update the UK&I Solventum website, provide basic reporting on campaign performance, develop a plan to incorporate AI technology into marketing processes.

Desired Skills, Qualities & Qualifications

Education: A Levels, BTEC Level 3 National Diploma/Extended Diploma, or equivalent vocational qualification.

Experience: Some experience in a marketing, commercial, administrative or customer‑facing environment; working to deadlines with multiple stakeholders; working as part of a team in a structured, professional environment; exposure to medical devices, healthcare or life sciences desirable.

Skills:

• Strong organisational, multi‑tasking and deadline‑management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with standard digital tools such as Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with a willingness to learn and develop in marketing.
• Full UK driving licence essential; occasional travel may be required (e.g., sales visits, key conferences).

Training and Development

As an apprentice you will receive on‑the‑job learning and formal training as part of the apprenticeship programme, including:

• Study toward a relevant qualification – Multi‑Channel Marketer Level 3.
• On‑the‑job training and mentoring from experienced professionals.
• Regular review meetings to track progress and development.

The successful candidate will obtain a Multi‑Channel Marketer Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification.

Potential full‑time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Pre‑employment checks will be completed via an external provider (Matrix Screening) and an internal online social media search, in line with Keeping Children Safely in Education guidance.
