About The Employer

Support is required to assist a child who is non‑verbal, taking them out for fun activities in the home and outside, e.g., walks, trampolining, dog walking, cinema and eating out.

Role Overview

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and/or prompt with personal care including toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, and dressing.
  • Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
  • Support the individual to look after/care for pets.
  • Support transport to and from school/work/college/social activities.
  • Support and/or prompt to access sporting and leisure activities.
  • Assist and encourage socialisation and participation in activities.
  • Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
  • Develop a good and trusting one‑to‑one working relationship.

Tasks may vary day to day and may include other duties as reasonably required.

Safety & Reporting

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately, report defects and hazards, and ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Training & Disclosure

Due to the nature of the work, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs covered). Successful candidates must undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role. In epilepsy roles, the PA must already hold a relevant qualification.

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

  • Previous experience in childcare/special needs is essential.

  • Self‑motivated with willingness to get involved.
  • Lively personality.
Hours

Hours per week: 6 hrs per week. Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
