Project Estimator - Glass, Dunstable

The right applicant: * Will be positive and solution focused. * Will be someone who relishes hard-work and multi-taking every single day * Someone who loves spreadsheets and is highly organizing in filing emails to folders etc. * Will be highly numerate and has at least 12 months experience of estimating * Articulate both verbally and in writing, prefers to talk than be a key-board warrior but acknowledges the importance of confirming agreements in writing. * Will be confident in reading architectural drawings, CAD, build-ups and specifications * Will have a QS qualification or developed strong professional QS skills on-the-job * Will have at least 18 months experience in the construction sector * Will have proven estimating experience for large tenders * Supporting our estimators on the technical elements of a tender to ensure the quote takes into account all requirements, so a knowledge and understanding of how to read and extract details from drawings is key * Browsing large tenders that have complex technical requirements as they come in to identify our optimum approach in order to guide preparation of the tender * Taking on responsibility for the large (£25,000 - £250,000) Contact projects we are awarded to ensure that purchasing, labour and production remain in line with the budgeted estimate. The role will include: * Attaining confirmed product procurement quotes per supplier for each job that goes live, negotiating on prices, cross matching against supplier invoices when they come in etc. * Creating and administering purchase schedules for consumables, hardware etc. per job to ensure products are received in time to meet the programme schedule and ensuring that purchases are in line with budgeted values (and where they are slipping identify the reasons why and put a plan in place to pull the project back in line) Hours are 8.30-5.30 Monday to Friday 20+8 days holiday per year
