Head of Pharmaceutical Technology Programme, Borehamwood

International Pharmaceutical Manufacturer requires an experienced Technology Programme Head, this position will be responsible for the ownership and delivery of specific mission ownership objectives as part of the management leadership within the Technology Function. Duties may include: Contribute to the development of Technology mission ownership objectives aligned to the strategic intent and end state goals. Own the delivery of specific Technology mission objectives ensuring improvements in yield and capacity are implemented on time with appropriate control strategies Ensure that data analysis of manufacturing processes is carried out and regularly reviewed in support of continued process control and capability. Keep abreast of emerging technologies, evaluate the business case and recommend implementation as part of the annual and long-range planning process Coordinate the development and approval of user requirement specifications for the introduction of new technology and equipment. Actively support the knowledge and technology transfer process for the implementation of new products from R&D into Production. Underpin the development of process understanding in the manufacturing teams in relation to Technology process improvements. Provide trouble shooting assistance to manufacturing, participating in or leading complex problem-solving investigations into process performance issues. Help shape the formation and continued evolution of the Technology function and its contribution to business needs To deliver agreed mission objectives on time with available process team resources Work collaboratively within the Technology group and with other functional groups to ensure mission success To continuously review current processes and working methods to drive for continuous improvement in support of business needs. To identify opportunities to improve performance through application of new technology, equipment and process changes Provide appropriate experience and support for technical process investigations to help problem solving and the identification of robust CAPA solutions Ensure appropriate knowledge transfer from R&D to the Technology group to fully understand and support current licensed production processes To identify gaps in knowledge, skills and capabilities and work with the Training Group to create a technical ladder for development of direct reports Ensure compliance standards of safety and quality are built into all work programmes Skills and experience: A minimum of a Bachelor's-Degree in an Engineering, Science or other technical field and 5 years of experience in pharmaceuticals or a related industry. A Track record of successful implementation of continuous process improvement projects Operational Excellence qualifications an advantage. Strong leadership, management and technical skills required. A Quality mindset with GMP production and Project Management experience ideally with an understanding of biologics manufacturing including centrifugation, chromatography, filtration, aseptic filling, etc. Team player with excellent communication, collaboration, negotiating, influencing and analytical thinking skills. Ability to create and lead a result orientated process team. To be forward thinking, pragmatic and diplomatic. Must be able to deal with strong personalities and able to develop positive relationships. An understanding or experience of regulatory requirements and challenges of working in a highly regulated environment Strong coaching and motivational skills will be essential to help teams resolve ambiguity resulting from rapid change
