Credit Controller, Warwickshire

Our client is looking for an experienced Credit Controller with supervisory experience to join the Finance team in their Head Office in Warwick, the ideal candidate should have experience of dealing with high volume, high value accounts. Main duties of the role include: *Dealing with internal and external payment and billing queries *Ensuring that customers pay correctly and on time *Ensuring that debts are paid in a timely manner *Meeting cash and debtor day targets set by the Company *Chasing overdue invoices by telephone, email and letter, within agreed timescales *Identifying changes in payment patterns and proposing appropriate actions to avoid debt *Handling disputed bills and negotiating to ensure payment within agreed terms *Undertaking account reconciliations *Sending out monthly client statements/letters *Developing the Company's credit management capability *Initiating legal action if customers stop or are late in making payments, as per company procedure, to ensure collection of money owed. Reporting cases of bankruptcy to higher management to get direction about the strategies to consider in order to recover as much as possible. *Regularly reviewing the company's debt recovery procedures. Required Skills and Experience *Working knowledge of good Credit Control procedure and practice, as recommended by the CICM *Basic knowledge of book-keeping, accounting procedure and applicable law *Proven organisational and prioritising skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines *Excellent written and verbal communication skills *Good attention to detail *Good level of literacy and numeracy *Ability to influence customer behavior for the benefit of the company *Strong IT skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
