Teaching Assistant, Penzance

Can you support children with a range of subjects within a school setting? Can you support pupils with behaviour that challenges? Teaching Personnel are currently looking for Teaching Assistants to work in a school close to the Penzance area. You will be working in small groups and 1:1 with students who have become disengaged with education. Your role will be to mentor students in lessons to boost their confidence academically and to help re-engage them with education. The ideal candidate will: Have previous experience working with young people; this doesn?t need to be in a classroom setting and other environments such as youth work, counselling and coaching is also great. Be confident in behaviour management Be able to build and maintain strong relationships Have a good sense of humour Be flexible  The role will involve; Supporting in activities which support pupils? individual well-being and behaviour needs in order to ensure that they are ready for learning. Using positive praise and rewards in order to encourage development. Working with pupils in both academic and vocational subjects which meet their interests. Work in a team with teachers and other staff Additional training such as Team Teach would also be an advantage, however training in this can be provided through Teaching Personnel at a highly discounted rate. We work with both mainstream and specialist schools across West Cornwall who support pupils across the Key Stages who will be needing additional staff to support their classes.
