NO AGENCIES Mademoiselle Desserts is the leading supplier of frozen desserts to the UK Food Service Industry. Operating from three sites across the UK, each with their own unique offering of amazing cakes and desserts Mademoiselle Desserts prides itself on being a great place to work. We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join our team based at our site in Taunton. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the purchasing team. They should have a solid background in purchasing, with an eye for detail and a tenacious approach to negotiation. In addition, the new buyer will be a take a proactive approach in helping lead the Company forward in securing quality suppliers of ingredients and packaging. Negotiations should meet price, delivery and quality targets. Principal Accountabilities include but are not limited to: ? Supporting the Purchasing and Planning Manager in providing the business with 1st class purchasing services ? Liaising between suppliers, internal departments and customers ? Identifying potential new suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships ? Negotiating and agreeing new contracts with suppliers, including discount structures and volume rebates and monitor their progress ? Liaising with the planning team and communicating any supply issues ? Booking in deliveries and monitoring the suppliers OTIF ? Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities ? Giving presentations about market analysis and possible growth ? Developing the businesses purchasing strategy in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager ? Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors and insights Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge ? CIPs Level 2 as a minimum is essential, Level 3 is desirable ? Minimum of 2 years buying experience, preferably in short life products. ? High Level of competence in the use of MS Software with experience of using an MRP system. ? Proactive and highly motivated with the drive to succeed as part of a team. Salary will start at £26,000 (for candidates with the right qualifications and experience) and this will be reviewed post probation and on achieving initially set targets and maintaining department and individual KPI's
