Literacy Support Volunteer (Virtual), Manchester

Overview

As a Volunteer Crewmate, your role is to join our online sessions and help children practise their reading and writing in small groups by providing constant encouragement, positivity and celebration of their achievements. Sessions are led and managed by staff, which means your time is solely focused on supporting the children in breakout rooms.

Responsibilities

• Support children in online sessions (reading and writing) in small groups.
• Provide encouragement, positivity and celebrate achievements.
• Assist staff by facilitating activities in breakout rooms.

What additional skills or experience you should have

• Experience working with children is helpful
• Strong communication and a positive attitude
• Ability to work well with staff and volunteers in a team

What training we will provide for you

• Volunteer orientation and session run-through
• Guidance on activities and safeguarding basics
