Southwell Road East is a Residential Care Home for adults living with learning disabilities and mental health disorders. We have a couple of exciting opportunities for personable Support Workers to join us at our Rainworth project in Nottinghamshire! We have free car parking on site if you have your own form of transport or the project is easily accessible by public transport (Buses 141 and 28 run every 10 minutes). Support Worker Responsibilities: Your duties and responsibilities will change day-to-day depending on the needs of the service users because the support we provide is person-centred. To give you a flavour of the role, these may include but are not limited to: - Providing personal care - Helping with domestic duties (e.g. cooking, meal preparation and cleaning) - Being a great listener and providing emotional support - Administering medications - Helping the service users to access work, education or training. - Helping the service users access the wider community Support Worker Requirements: We believe everyone deserves to be valued and treated with dignity and respect. You will support our service users to live as independently as possible. This role is challenging and therefore requires patience, understanding and the ability to be able to nurture challenging behaviour. For example, you may need to use physical restraint with a service user ? but don?t worry, full training will be provided! You will be reliable, adaptable, a team player, willing to learn and have excellent people skills. We aim to make a positive impact every day! Previous experience of working with adults with social, emotional and mental health disorders is beneficial. However, full training and development will be given to individuals willing to gain experience in this field. If this sounds like you ? you?ll be a great addition to our friendly team! It is essential that you are flexible and are able to work varied shifts on a rota basis which includes early and late shifts, weekends, bank holidays, night working and sleep-ins. You will receive a bonus for waking night shifts and double time is paid for Christmas and New Year shifts. Additionally, an allowance is paid for sleep-ins because we appreciate the time you put in!
