Frontline Recruitment Derby are representing an established manufacturing company based in Mansfield. We are instructed to recruit an experienced HSE Adviser, days Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). Key accountabilities: - You will play a key role in driving our health and safety strategy and supporting our business to keep our teams safe Ensure the Company both complies with statutory requirements for Health, Safety and Environment and implements appropriate best practice systems and procedures Ensure the Company safety strategy is focused on promoting a positive and proactive safety culture through the reduction of injuries and risk, you will need to be able to influence, coach and support the operational business streams and key support functions to drive the safety strategy and performance Essential Duties and Responsibilities Health and Safety and Environment duties: * To manage the Safety System on a day to day basis * Maintain all safety related documentation in accordance with relevant Legislation * Uphold the current certification ISO 45001 and previous ISO 14001 * Work in conjunction with Quality Department supporting environmental documentation preparation of project documentation * Promote and develop initiatives for the improvement of the site safety system Business Responsibilities and duties include: * Maintain current safety KPI?s reporting to the Operations Manager and EMEA/HQ * Responsible for adopting, implementing and assisting in the continual improvement programme People/Sub-Contractor, Responsibilities and duties include: * Monitor, track, record Subcontractor performance, ensure all requirements are met * Ensure all RAMS are collated * Assist in communicating relevant safety information to subcontractors enabling them to effectively carry out their functions * Formally report levels of safety performance to site management Corrective Action procedures. Responsibilities and duties include: Compile detailed reports for internal and external audiences Manage and support the administration of incident reports on a daily basis in an organised manner Review incident investigation reports and identify deficiencies within the information and assist operations to identify the root cause of accidents/incidents Analysing accident and incident data to identify incident trends & Influence staff in best practice initiatives Liaising with other departments to ensure that all arrangements and activities comply with the Group?s standards Provide Health and Safety training, when and where necessary Customers Provide assistance and answers to customer?s questions regarding the environmental impact specifications (Project specific) Other Internal * Lead EMS meetings with the management team and production staff to cascade as appropriate * Lead meetings that may be composed of Production staff combined with other departments or groups * These meetings are established to enable the discussion of current concerns and to keep everyone informed of new changes and difficulties. Covered in the EMS performance measurement results for the period, samples of recent problems to be shown Essential Duties and Responsibilities continued QUALIFICATIONS: * NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction H &S; NEBOSH in Environmental management would be an advantage not essential Skills and Experience Minimum of 2 years of safety/EHS-related experience both practical and theoretical based in industrial & manufacturing safety and environment compliance Good general knowledge on Health and Safety legislation and associated HSE guidance Ability to interpret legislation and regulatory requirements and provide practical guidance Ability to generate and draft clear and concise risk assessments Excellent interpersonal skills, articulate and numerate
