Specification Engineer, Milton Keynes

My client is a leading manufacturer of communications and data hardware systems. Part of a larger global organisation, this is a stable and profitable operation which has gone from strength to strength in the last few years and has not been affected by the current Covid19 crisis. Due to expansion the company is seeking a SPECIFICATION ENGINEER to join the team in Milton Keynes The primary focus of the role will be to become the "subject matter expert" in the company's range of data and communications equipment. You will need to learn about the technical capabilities of each product, the national and international standards relating to the product ranges and keep abreast of any changes in standards and policies. Furthermore you will take a keen interest in competitor products and advise on NPI so that the company can be ahead of the competition in the development of their systems. With this knowledge you will also assist the sales team in developing practical and cost effective proposals for the company's clients across Europe. You will advise on product selection and system build ensuring that the sales team put together the best and most cost effective package for each client. In addition to this you assist the sales team in any technical queries that customers have. Occasional travel to the European customer base may be required. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a degree level education in a STEM discipline who is looking to engage their knowledge in role which includes technical and commercial disciplines in what is a key part of my client's team.
