Team Chaplain, Milton Keynes

To participate in developing the vision for the chaplaincy service in line with the Trust's strategic direction, ensuring this is underpinned by appropriate policies and guidance. To ensure that all members of the chaplaincy team are fully integrated into the service and that they are selected, screened, trained and supervised appropriately.

To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide/ensure the provision of pastoral, spiritual and religious care for patients, their relatives, staff, students and others. To be visible within the hospital and to visit patients, visitors and staff in all areas regularly and, when requested, to provide appropriate support to the seriously ill and dying and accompany those in need.

As part of the Chaplaincy team, to ensure that the Chaplaincy team respects the dignity, culture, beliefs and spiritual needs of each person and complies with the Trust's requirements concerning equality, diversity, and inclusion. To provide advice and support to appropriate committees, working parties and project teams as may be set up in the Trust, and contribute to the development of relevant policies where required.

To share in leading and developing the Chaplaincy team's commitment to training, teaching and learning. To share in the support and debriefing of staff when requested following difficult or traumatic situations.
