Job Title: Port Administration Assistant

Location: Port-based role

Temp to Perm

Location: Heysham

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (days & nights)

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Port Administration Assistant to support daily operations at the port. The role involves acting as the first point of contact for hauliers and ensuring the safe and efficient flow of HGV traffic in and out of the terminal.

Role Overview

Primary responsibility is managing the check‑in and check‑out process for drivers, ensuring accurate records and smooth coordination of vehicle movements.

Key Responsibilities

• Checking drivers in and out of the port.
• Recording and maintaining accurate entry and exit information.
• Verifying driver and vehicle details where required.
• Communicating clearly with drivers and relevant operational teams.
• Ensuring all administrative processes are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Supporting general administrative tasks related to port operations when required.

Requirements

• Previous administration or logistics experience is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills when dealing with drivers and operational staff.
• Ability to work independently and reliably.
