Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Industrial Door, Dock Leveller, and Loading Bay Engineer to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial doors, dock levellers, and loading bays across various commercial and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction-related trades, with experience in electrical systems, welding, carpentry, and fabrication. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic environment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of loading bay equipment.

Duties

• Install, service, and repair a wide range of industrial doors, dock levellers, and loading bay equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential faults or safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems using schematics and technical manuals.
• Fabricate or modify components as required using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (ideal but not essential) and fabrication techniques. .
• Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and safety documentation to execute tasks accurately.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each service call or installation project.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and within scheduled timeframes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a loading bay field engineer is vital
• Competence in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (ideal but not essential) and fabrication machinery.
• Knowledge of schematics and technical drawings relevant to industrial door systems and loading bay mechanisms.
• Familiarity with construction and general site safety protocols.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults effectively.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical systems or construction trades are desirable but not essential.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently on busy sites. This role is ideal for a versatile engineer with a background in loading bay repair/servicing who is committed to delivering high-quality work while maintaining safety standards at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £28,927.55-£51,232.34 per year
