Could you provide a welcoming home for the next generation of Newcastle United stars?

We’re looking for Host Families to support our young players as they move to Newcastle United from outside the North East.

  • Provide a stable, safe, and welcoming home
  • Play a vital role in a player’s growth on and off the pitch

Family is at the heart of Newcastle United. We know our players perform at their best when they feel happy and secure at home.

We offer both short-term (1–2 nights) and full-time (7 nights per week) placements for players aged 14–21.

If you can offer a nurturing environment and want to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you!

  • Willingness to accommodate trialists and provide holiday cover when needed
You’ll be able to:
  • Create a welcoming, homely environment for young players
  • Teach essential independent living skills like cooking, cleaning, and self‑care
  • Provide meals following nutritional guidance from the Academy
  • Ensure accommodation is close to local amenities with good transport links to the Academy
  • Report any welfare concerns to the Academy’s Safeguarding and Wellbeing team
  • Integrate players into family life as much as they feel comfortable
  • Accommodate regular inspections and visits during the season
  • Build trusted relationships through open communication
  • Adapt to the flexible schedule of young players throughout the football season
  • Promote and demonstrate a strong anti‑discriminatory practice
It would be great if you have:
  • Experience working with young people
  • Understanding of the emotional impact and well‑being challenges young athletes face
  • A child‑focused approach
  • The capacity to accommodate more than one player

We welcome applications from all sections of the community. In particular, we encourage candidates from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds to apply, as these groups are currently under‑represented in this role. If you’re ready to offer a supportive home and make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you!
