An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Registered Building Control Surveyor in Wales'newest City. Newport is a city on the rise and has ambitious growth and regeneration ambitions. Current LABC projects include the£78 million components facility a number of large scale commercial and housing developments, school rebuild programme and refurbishments and numerous smaller commercial and domestic projects. As part of a team, you will be responsible for dealing with a personal caseload of domestic and commercial Building Regulation applications on an area-basis, as well as preliminary enquiries and dealing with dangerous structures and enforcement work.

The successful candidate will be hard-working, self-motivated and a team player. A HND/HNC in a construction related subject is desirable and registered min. Class 2 domestic level under the Building Safety Act. Applicants must be able to travel around Newport to undertake site visits including on an out of hours duty rota for emergency call-outs. Mileage allowance is paid for site visits, and a stand-by payment is given for out-of-hours duty cover.
