About the role

Do you enjoy sport, arts or creative activities and want to help children have fun and stay active? Are you looking for flexible, rewarding work supporting high‑quality activity sessions for children aged 4 to 16 as part of an experienced team?

Salford Community Leisure's Active Communities team delivers exciting, innovative, and highly regarded activities across the City of Salford to children and young people aged 4 to 16 years. We are looking to recruit a number of casual employees to assist in the delivery of our highly engaging and rewarding activity, holiday and party programmes during the summer of 2026.

We are passionate about nurturing inclusive and healthy communities, ensuring that every individual has access to the opportunities and services that support physical and mental health, creativity, and personal development.

Major health challenges and inequalities exist within the city, and ambitious strategies have been developed to address them. Physical exercise, creativity, learning and community development have been identified to change people's lives for the better.

Desired attributes
  • Interest or experience in sport, arts, cultural or youth‑focused activities
  • Ability to support the delivery of high‑quality activity sessions for children aged 4 to 16
  • Clear and confident communication with children, families and colleagues
  • Reliability as part of a team, following session plans and instructions
  • Organisation and ability to assist with session setup, delivery and monitoring
  • Demonstration of behaviours and values aligned with Salford Community Leisure

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. You will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check (currently £49.50 for an enhanced check). The payment will be taken back over two payments directly from the first two months' salary payments. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment.

If you have lived or worked abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years, or 12 months or more (whether continuously or in total) in the last 10 years while aged 18 or over, please check the guidance for obtaining Certificates of Good Character.
