NPD Placement Student, Northampton

Please only apply for this role if you are currently an undergraduate completing a 4-year Food focused degree, covering Food, Nutrition, Marketing Management, or another related subject.  ** If you're not studying towards a Food Education, please do not apply for the role. ** 1 Year industrial work placement in New Product Development The Placement: 1-month induction to the key departments and stakeholders in the business Working under the guidance of a Product Developer, project-based placement including Product Creation, Benchmarking and product tear downs, sample make ups and submissions, sourcing new ingredients, product reheat verification.  Own the day to day responsibility, for delivery of individual projects, to achieve category innovation goals. Work with the team of Product Development Managers and Product Developers to deliver the critical path/project plan against the brief and primarily within the Creative stage of the M&S Development process Liaise with individual Product Developers and Technologists within the customer organisation in conjunction with the site product Developers Be accountable for delivering their aspects of the project and, on time, on budget and to agreed performance targets.This role will encompass the early stages of innovation development and delivery including idea generation, creative development, consumer testing, through to handover to the factory process team for scale up This includes all product, packaging and product make-up and guardianship of the quality standards of finished product and ingredients Main Responsibilities:  Be responsible for delivery of individual products to achieve category innovation goals and objectives To continuously review the project status of all products and take corrective action if product/project moves off track through liaising with their manager or wider team. To complete all relevant documentation through WORD or EXCEL. To work on individual products/projects and progress them through Creative stage. Both the internal and external customer process. Keeping Line Manager and or project manager up to speed Liaise with Packaging Manager and Developer on projects ensuring all new packaging is available for submissions and achieves sign off against agreed critical path. Plan product submissions. ordering ingredients and packaging, collating factory ingredients Nutritional analysis conducted on approved new ingredients Organizing and sending customer samples and setting quality attributes. Ensure full and accurate documentation of recipes and packaging at all stages of development. To ensure yield work on new ingredients, cooking, freezing trials, travel tests are conducted prior to handover and at correct stages in process. To produce samples from for photography (when required) Nutritional analysis and microbiological/organoleptic shelf life in conjunction with Technical TeamPrepare product specifications, handover documents and ingredient quality contracts Job DescriptionYou may not have heard of us, but we?re sure you?ve tried our products.
