Site Engineer, Norwich

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in Norwich on a long-term freelance basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works on site
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings and specifications
• Managing QA documentation and inspection records
• Conducting site checks and quality assurance processes
• Liaising with subcontractors, site management, and design teams
• Supporting delivery of highways, drainage, and earthworks packages
• Maintaining health & safety standards across site activities

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civils projects
• Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and documentation
• Competent with setting out equipment and surveying techniques
• Experience with highways, drainage, kerbing, or earthworks preferred
• CSCS card essential
• SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider delivery team

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing QA processes within a fast-paced highways environment. Previous experience on large infrastructure schemes is highly desirable.
