Principal Engineer/Associate ? They are well known for work as structural and civil engineers. But also work in related areas such as environmental, infrastructure, transport planning and sustainability. This is a key role in the management of a team of engineers and an opportunity to take a up a senior leadership role within the Nottingham office in the future. 1. Key Roles & Responsibilities: * Responsible for leading teams of engineers and technicians in the delivery of civil engineering projects with a heavy bias on drainage and earthworks * Responsible for co-ordinating delivery of drainage and highways elements of projects and ensuring interface with structures team * Responsible for the development and ongoing management of design delivery programmes * Responsible for a team delivering analysis and design drainage networks, earthworks and highway alterations * Ability to develop concept hydraulics using software * Visiting sites and attending site meetings * Involvement in internal and project design meetings. * Attend external design meetings with clients and other design team members. * Prepare correspondence and reports. * Client Relationship Management * Managing Workload of self and others * Undertaking design reviews to provide a technical audit of designs undertaken by other engineers * Resourcing of team * Development of team members including mentoring etc 2. Knowledge: * Must hold a degree in Civil Engineering * Must hold a professional qualification i.e, MICE/AMICE or equivalent * Must be IT literate with experience of civil engineering design and visualisation software packages. * Must be technically competent 3. Skills and Abilities: * Determination to find solutions to problems * Ability to communicate in a clear and concise way with colleagues and clients * Ability to develop client relationships * Marketing and Networking * Must hold a valid driving licence 4. Personal Qualities: * Strong interpersonal skills * Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and prospective clients
