EPA Associates are currently looking for 3x Occupational Therapist. Our client deals with the public sector. The role is an ongoing role, which will continue. Our client is one of the largest public sector companies in the east midlands. Job Purpose To carry out assessments concerning disability and eligibility within current legislation, policies and core values, and Departmental policies and procedures. To develop person-centred packages of support, which may include rehabilitation/reablement, provision of equipment and structural adaptations. To provide mentoring and support to more junior staff. Role and responsibilities * To ensure the delivery of appropriate services to children/adults and their families/carers, according to their assessed needs. This will include assessing the needs of children/adults and their carers against the Department?s agreed eligibility criteria and following National Performance Indicators within set timescales and the creation and implementation of culturally appropriate care plans that demonstrate flexibility and innovative use of resources. * To deliver good outcomes for children/adults through completing timely assessments and implementing effective care plans that safeguard vulnerable children/adults. * To lead on a full range of risk assessments, advice, and support in the most complex cases or where there are multiple concerns causing risks to personal safety, and safeguarding issues for the individual and their families/carers. * To manage multifaceted cases including those requiring highly complex manual handling, complicated equipment and major structural adaptations that keep children/adults and their families/carers safe. * To apply advanced knowledge of a wide range of policies in reflective evidence-based practice. * To undertake case management responsibilities that include child/adult-focused assessments of need within a person-centred approach, monitoring, coordinating and review of care plans. * To maintain and produce professional case records and reports which are structured, clear, evidence-based and logical following the Department?s case recording standards and practice. * To identify appropriate residential, foster and short break placements for looked after disabled children/adults and recommend adaptations and equipment as necessary. * To provide mentoring and support to more junior colleagues such as Level 1 OTs, FSWs/CCOs Service Advisers or administrative colleagues. * To participate in mentoring and supporting Level 2 Occupational Therapy students and to train as a Practice Educator. * To manage own workload effectively, maintaining appropriate records and preparing and submitting reports as required within agreed timescales. * To make the best use of the Department?s information systems, both using information from the relevant procedures and inputting new data as required in a timely and accurate manner. * To attend team meetings as required, and to participate in individual supervision with the line manager as required by the Department?s supervision policy. * To work proactively to promote good relationships with other professionals and agencies, as well as providing advice and guidance to colleagues. * To ensure that records and user information are accurate, up to date, secure and maintained, using information technology following agreed data entry systems and the Data Protection Act. * To be conversant with Departmental Policy & Procedure. * To take part in team duty systems providing an immediate and responsive service as the need arises in emergency work to include undertaking assessments and working alongside qualified social workers during safeguarding investigations. * To work flexibly and to participate as a team member in developing the service and ensuring that it remains ?customer-driven? and appropriate to the needs and demands of the City. * To demonstrate commitment and sensitivity to ensuring equality of opportunity in service delivery. * To undertake further training and development as necessary to enhance practice and service delivery. * To practice following the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, Care Standards Act 2000, and Code of Conduct for Employees. Essential requirements (qualifications and skills) * Level 3 Requirements: * To be registered with the Health Professions Council. * Hold Occupational Therapy Qualification and substantial post qualification experience of social care. * Take the lead on complex cases and highly complex manual handling assessments and service developments. * Level 3 Occupational Therapists will carry full and complex caseload, working independently. * Social Work Certificate Enhanced DBS HCPC Registration Five years of reference
