Sewing Machinist, Preston

Location: Preston

Salary: £28,080.00 - £39,520.00 DOE

Hours: Full-time / Overtime available

Monday - Thursday 06:30 - 16:30

40 hours per week.

• Operate industrial sewing machines to produce high‑quality garments/products
• Work with a range of fabrics, including light and heavy materials
• Operate Zig‑Zag and Mauser machines
• Perform overlock stitching
• Sew leather
• Carry out basic quality checks to ensure finished products meet standards
• Maintain a clean and safe working area
• Meet daily/weekly production targets

• Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist (essential)
• Confident using industrial sewing machines
• Strong attention to detail and good hand‑eye coordination
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
• Experience in clothing manufacturing, upholstery, or textile production is an advantage

This role is suited for a sewing machinist who has worked in a fast‑paced sewing environment in the furniture industry and wants to earn a bonus on each product they sew. The candidate will operate a Zig‑Zag and Mauser machine, sew using a twin needle and overlock, and have experience sewing leather. They will work to product specifications and perform quality assurance checks on completed products.
