Location: Various mental health inpatient sites in Lancashire, Town Preston. Contract: Fixed term, 25 months. Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week with rotational shift patterns.
Salary: £25,760 – £27,476 per annum (subject to confirmation). Closing: 31/05/2026.

Main Duties of the Job- Travel across the trust footprint up to 90 minutes each way.
- Demonstrate an understanding of mental health healthcare and the role of a Nursing Associate.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, colleagues and supervisors.
- Work hard and undertake study in your own time while completing the programme.
- Develop knowledge of both physical and mental health and learn essential clinical skills for eventual registration.
- Mathematics and English proficiency: GCSE English and Maths (grade C or 4 and above) or equivalent CSE/O Level; functional skills or key skills level 2 in Maths and English.
- 48 UCAS points or equivalent qualifications (e.g., A‑Levels, Diploma, Foundation degree, Level 4 NVQ, BTEC).
- Minimum of 12 months health‑care experience.
- Proof of qualifications for any of the above entries (original certificates or official transcripts).
- GCSEs Grade A–C in Maths and English (or equivalent CSE/O Level).
- Functional skills or key skills level 2 in Maths and English.
- Demonstrable ability to study at Level 5 Diploma of Higher Education Level and commitment to completing the Foundation Degree programme, achieving at least 48 UCAS points.
- Insight into evaluating own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
- Understanding of the NMC Code of conduct and its application to the Nursing Associate role.
- Work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Handle the non‑routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact.
- Move between sites across health and social care as required by the development programme.
- Evidence of time‑management skills and ability to prioritise.
- Previous experience within a health/care setting (minimum 12 months) relevant to the post.
- Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times.
