Job Overview

Full time engineer/mechanic required to work on gas powered cummins generator sites in the Doncaster area (peaking plants)

Prior experience with engines and knowledge of electrical control programs is an advantage with and references within this field are favorable however training will be given to a newcomer into the industry.

Must be eager to learn and adapt.

A driving license is essential as you will be working on multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and comprehensive repairs on gas generators to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and hands-on troubleshooting techniques.
• Repair and replace components such as engines, alternators, control panels, wiring harnesses, and other critical parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques.
• Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to accurately troubleshoot complex electrical systems within generators.
• Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to track maintenance history and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members or clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes and ensuring satisfaction.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
