Accounts Assistant, Orpington

About the Role

Unique Seafood Ltd is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our friendly, fast-paced Finance team based in Orpington. As the headquarters of the Unique Seafood Group, we support a global seafood trading and production business, working with suppliers, customers, and partners across the world. Our finance team plays a key role in keeping everything running smoothly across multiple entities.

We’re looking for someone with at least 2 years experience in an Accounts Assistant or similair role, who has a solid understanding of accounting principles and enjoys being involed in the day-to-day running of a finance function. You’ll be supporting a range of activities, from processing invoices and payments to assisting with reconciliations, reporting, and audit preperation.

This role would suit someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and takes pride in accuracy, with the confidence to manage their workload and support the wider team. Experience using accounting software is important, and exposure to ERP systems is a plus, particularly Microsoft Navision and/or Business Central.

This is a fully office-based role, working closely with supportive and knowledgeable team who value collaboration, reliability, and getting things done properly. If you enjoy working in a busy environment and developing your skills within finance, this could be a great fit.

Key Responsibilities

· Processing customer receipts, supplier invoices, and purchase payments

· Assisting with weekly payment runs and intercompany invoicing

· Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions

· Maintaining and reconciling financial records, including bank statements and ledgers

· Assisting with invoice financing administration and monthly reporting

· Supporting month-end and year-end processes

· Preparing documentation for audits and responding to audit queries

· Assisting with payroll processes and employee expense claims

· Handling finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders

· Providing general administrative support to the finance team

About You

You’re organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you’ll already have experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similar administrative role and feel confident juggling tasks, speaking to customers and suppliers, and taking ownership of your work.

Bonus points if you have:

· Experience using ERP accounting systems

· Familiarity with Microsoft Navision and/or Business Central

· AAT qualification (or working towards it)

· Experience supporting audits or working with invoice financing
