Description
We are looking for a newly qualified employment law solicitor to join our growing Employment team based in our Oxford office.

The role

You will work on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, advising commercial clients (including life sciences and technology businesses), higher education institutions, the health sector and charities. Full training and support will be provided, particularly in relation to health, education and charity sector work.

The role offers close collaboration with solicitors Anna Fisken, Sophie Corke and Polly Smith, alongside Partner William Downing, Head of the Employment team and Oxford Office. You will also be part of a nationally recognised team of 16 partners and over 80 solicitors across seven offices.

The person
  • Self‑motivated and proactive, with strong common sense, initiative and the ability to work collaboratively on complex matters
  • Highly organised and methodical, with excellent time management, documentation skills and keen attention to detail
  • Strong relationship‑builder, able to develop effective connections with clients, prospective clients and internal colleagues
  • Confident researcher, with the ability to use online information sources effectively
  • Desirable experience supporting employment law aspects of corporate transactions, including drafting contracts, settlement agreements and due diligence, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges
