Senior Expeditor/Materials Planner, Peterborough

JTH Recruitment has another exciting opportunity for an experienced Expeditor or Materials Planner to join our dynamic FMCG client. We are looking for someone that has worked in a similar role and must have worked in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Role Description This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join the Purchasing Team in a rapidly growing business to positively impact our customer relationships by ensuring that we adhere to their stock requirements, whilst at the same time ensuring that our production facility is able to maximise efficiencies by ensuring components / raw materials are delivered on time. With a live SKU portfolio of over 2.5k products (and growing) with up to 100 different products running per week across 2 production facilities - there is plenty of opportunities to impact positively in this role. Role Objective * Using an experience of MRP / ERP based systems in a manufacturing environment, highlight and resolve the major risks to Production - positively impacting production efficiency. * Using an experience of MRP / ERP based systems in a manufacturing environment, highlight and resolve the major risks to Customer Availability - positively impacting Sales. * Manage and Develop a team of 2 Administrative Expeditors to ensure their weekly tasks are complete to a high level * Escalate and resolve any lead-time / quality related delays with suppliers, by understanding the detail of the suppliers manufacturing / supply chain process to negotiate effectively. * Manage with all stakeholders internally to ensure all departments are engaged. * Bring an 'Anything Can Be Fixed? attitude to problem solving, collaborative approach with the wider teams. * Maintaining accuracy on system inputted data to allow the best visibility the planning and production departments. * Tracking CPA?s for NPD products to ensure that we have completed all internal stages in the process - to ensure the supplier can hit the delivery date required. Candidate Description * Excellent numerical skills : must be able to understand and advise on product costings. * Experience with an MRP / ERP based system in a manufacturing environment. * Exceptional organisational ability * Must be able to communicate across all levels of the business, from factory floor to Senior Directors & externally with Suppliers and Freight companies. * Has commercial acumen and an understanding of business issues * Pivotal team player + has a collaborative approach * Ability to multi-task and work on multi-projects - skilled prioritiser * Deadline driven and motivated : self-starter : a 'can do? attitude * Successful within a fast paced environment : responds well to pressure and change * Professional, adaptable and flexible Qualifications * Able to demonstrate a high level of intellectual ability, likely through good academics of Degree calibre although other experience or test results may also demonstrate this.
