Vacancy: Estimator - Construction Location: Cambridgeshire HECK Recruitment are currently working with a well-established regional contractor located on the outskirts of Peterborough, even in this tough time this client is still looking to invest in their Estimating team due to increase in enquiries & work load for the next two years. Company: This medium sized regional contractor operates across the East region. They specialise on projects ranging from £1 Million to £30 Million in a wide range of sectors. These schemes can vary from new build & large scale refurbishments. Sectors: * Housing * Education * Commercial * Leisure * Retail Position: This role would be working as part of a team within a large construction office, this role would require a estimator that has either worked for a Tier one contractor or large regional business within construction. Ideally you would have Housing, Education, Commercial experience on projects circa £5 Million. Duties * Finding out what the client wants. * Researching materials, equipment and labour costs. * Gathering quotes from sub contractors and suppliers. * Assessing the levels of risk on a project. * Analysing company data, exchange rates and prices using software packages. * Preparing and submitting quotations for work. * Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities. * Monitoring the stages of a project to make sure that costs are kept in line with forecasts.
