Start People are looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join their growing team in Peterlee.

This role involves working on a varied range of fabrication projects including structural steelwork, bespoke fabrications, stillages, and industrial products within a busy workshop environment.

Hours:

Pay:

15.75 per hour (Paid Weekly)

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble components from mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
• Work from engineering drawings to produce accurate fabrications
• Carry out MIG welding (and occasional TIG where applicable)
• Manufacture a range of products including:
  • Structural steelwork
  • Secondary steelwork
  • Stillages, racking, and material handling equipment
  • Platforms, stairs, handrails and safety barriers
• Use workshop machinery such as saws, grinders, drills and press equipment
• Ensure all work meets required quality standards and specifications
• Perform self-inspection of completed work
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace in line with health & safety procedures

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Fabrication
• Strong MIG welding ability (essential)
• Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
• Experience working with structural or general steel fabrication
• Good attention to detail and high standard of workmanship
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
