Senior Finance Coordinator, Plymouth

The Senior Finance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the companys accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls and supporting strategic financial decision-making. This role acts as a key link between day-to-day finance operations and senior leadership.Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP) and statutory regulations Manage the month-end and year-end closing processesDevelop and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies Coordinate external audits and act as the main point of contact for auditors Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance against targets Provide financial analysis and reports to support business decision-making Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracySupervise and mentor accounting and finance team members Manage tax reporting and liaise with external tax advisors where required Required Skills&Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA) strongly preferred Proven experience in a financial controller or senior accounting role Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirementsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills High proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills Strong leadership and team management abilities Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Preferred Experience510+ years in accounting or finance roles, including supervisory experience Experience in audit, financial reporting, and internal controls Experience working in a multi-entity or fast-paced environment is an advantage Key Competencies Financial accuracy and integrity Strategic thinking and commercial awarenessLeadership and people development Strong communication and stakeholder management Process improvement mindset Hours Mon to Thurs 8am 4.30pm&Fri 8am 3.30pm full time on-site role.
