Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security of systems.

The ideal candidate will organise, and manage the company's computer systems. This individual will evaluate and assess systems to ensure they are operating effectively. Based on assessments, this individual will harness collected knowledge and make adjustments to existing systems.

This role requires a strong understanding of various technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain system efficiency
  • Ensure system design allows all components to work together properly
  • Make recommendations for upgrades
  • Evaluate and modify system performance
  • Deploy patches, AV updates, system upgrades on servers and end-user devices
  • Manage network perimeter firewall
  • Provide support for technical issues, troubleshoot and resolve
  • Manage and maintain server environments including Microsoft Windows Server and Linux systems.
  • Configure and support network services such as DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and VPN.
  • Implement and manage firewalls to ensure network security.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Provide customer service support to internal users, resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in system administration with a strong understanding of computer networking concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and Excel, as well as SharePoint for document management.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience as System Administrator
  • Experience in administrating both Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience in managing Windows Active Directory environment
  • Networking qualifications (eg: MCSA, CCNA, CCNP, etc)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to facilitate clear interactions with team members and users alike.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python is a plus but not essential.
