Secondary school Physics Teacher, Preston - Start October 2020 This is an exciting opportunity for a Science teacher specialising in Physics to teach at a Preston Secondary school who wants a challenge of teaching KS3 and KS4. This role would suit a Physics teacher looking for the next step into their career or a talented professional NQT positioned near Preston. During your time in the secondary school you will be teaching KS3 and KS4 Physics so you will need to have a deep understanding of the subjects and the ability to use different methods of teaching for pupils who are struggling with the knowledge. This 'excellent? rated secondary school is located just outside of Preston around the corner from the local train station and just off a main road with easy access. This secondary school is a vibrant and exciting place to learn and teach. They believe that for students to be successful; they need to be happy. Therefore, the school has requested that the candidate is passionate towards their work It is also desirable for them to have a track record of 'Good? or 'Outstanding? practise within Physics and for them to have an extensive understanding of 11-16 year old behaviour in Secondary school. Further reading for difficult subjects is desirable as you will be able to provide the pupils with extended facts that can push them above the rest of the country for GCSEs. You will need to be able to cope with the workload of planning and teaching lessons whilst ensuring that all marking of homework is kept up to date. as this is a crucial time of education for students. In order to be considered for this post, you will need to: * Hold QTS or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualifications. * Be able to teach Secondary school KS3 and KS4 Physics. * Have a good knowledge of the current National Curriculum. * Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour and always strive to get the best out of your students. * Have your own transport to and from the school near Preston. The candidate must have an Enhanced DBS as this is an un-negotiable requirement due to the importance of safeguarding and child welfare. This can be discussed further upon application.
