IT Technician, Preston PR2 5JQ

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our users, ensuring that all IT systems operate smoothly. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of various operating systems and networking concepts.

Duties

• Provide technical support for hardware and software issues across various platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
• Assist with desktop support tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware.
• Manage VPN connections and firewall configurations to maintain secure network access.
• Offer help desk support to users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain documentation of IT processes using tools such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance IT service delivery and improve customer satisfaction.
• Support computer networking tasks including LAN setup and maintenance.

Experience

• Proven experience in IT support roles with a focus on customer service.
• Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and various operating systems is essential.
• Experience with help desk software such as BMC Remedy or ServiceNow is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively assist users at all levels of technical proficiency.
