VAC 290 Senior Technical Engineer Salary £65,000 - £85,000 dependant on experience plus benefits package. Based from Rothyerham South Yorkshire? Worldwide travel will be required. Further expansion has created an outstanding opportunity for a leadership position of Senior Technical Engineer located in Sheffield with specific responsibility for the Metals Recycling Division. Role * Ensure the integrity and development of the design and technological evolution of the company?s product range including scrap metal shredders, shears and balers. * Development of new technology to complement the existing product range utilizing in house resources and/or collaboration with business partners. * Support the sales and operations function efficiently managing, projects/tenders as well as identifying new opportunities with existing and potential customers. * Extensive business travel internationally * Team development Responsibilities: * Maintaining and developing high level contacts within the metal recycling industries customers and organisations. * Supporting the marketing strategy and participation to main events. * Contract definition and elaboration of technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with the sales department, defining job cost budgets and scheduling of resources. * Coordination and general oversight of engineering and technical activities associated with all projects under execution at any one time and sales activity. * Ensuring customer satisfaction and assistance by paying continuous visits and pro-active attitude. * Advising on potential remedial action vs. unexpected events. * Identifying training needs of UT and UTC staff and leading training and personal development activity. * Timely reporting, market information and visits to customers. * Support of procurement activities with preparation of detailed technical specifications. * Advice to potential new suppliers and products to ensure we maintain a state-of-the-art product offering. Experience/Knowledge Required * Significant period of relevant managerial experience working in either a sales/marketing or technical environment of an established OEM within the metals recycling industry. * Foreign language skills desirable but not essential. * A minimum of 10 years? experience within a similar role. * Extensive experience working with international design and supply contracts for scrap metal processing equipment. * Strong business acumen and experience developing product portfolio of commercially attractive machines used in the steel metal processing industry. * Experience dealing directly with customers within the scrap metal processing and steel making industry. * Knowledge of customer processes and systems within metal processing and steel making industry. * Confident to overcome difficult questions and agreeing resolutions with clients. * Able to travel internationally and stay away from home Qualifications. * Engineering / technical degree in either mechanical or hydraulic engineering.
