SEND Teacher

Full Time – Monday – Friday – 8:30am – 3:30pm (Temporary, to permanent full time)

Location: Rotherham

Pay to scale – £175 – £325 per day (pay depends on experience, training or qualifications)

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: UK QTS and experience working with students with special educational needs and behaviours that challenge.

Contract Dates: Monday 1 June 2026 – Flexible start dates available

The role

As a SEND Teacher, you will support the class in the delivery of lessons, whilst also providing support and guidance to the students in a variety of learning needs.

Working with students with special educational needs is an extremely rewarding environment, but it can be challenging to understand each student’s needs; therefore this role benefits from consistency and continuity.

Ideally you will have experience working with social, emotional and mental health needs of children or young adults, ASD, ADHD, MLD and emotional behaviour difficulties.

The School

Based in an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ SEND provision in the Rotherham area, the school caters for needs including but not limited to SEMH, ASC, ADHD, MLD and EBD.

This school is passionate about providing the best quality of education, care and specialist support for all its pupils and puts them at the centre of everything it does.

The school caters for children in primary years all the way through to secondary (KS1 – KS5). This particular role will be based in a secondary aged classroom.

Requirements
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary with a subject specialism – ideally Maths and/or English.
  • Experience working with children with a variety of SEND, including but not limited to MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs.
  • Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSAs.
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
  • Ideally be Team Teach trained or willing to undertake a course free of charge through us.
