Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight
Salary: £50,000 – £56,000 per annum
Contract: 3-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm | Friday 8:30am–1:00pm

Pertemps Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HSE Manager to join a busy manufacturing site based in Ryde.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Health, Safety & Environmental professional looking for an immediate contract role, with the possibility of extension beyond the initial 3 months.

The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will take full responsibility for Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the site, ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement.

Key duties include:

• Managing and maintaining HSE systems and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
• Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations
• Carrying out risk assessments and supporting audits
• Promoting safe working practices across the business
• Supporting environmental compliance, waste control and energy management
• Producing HSE reports and KPI data
• Acting as the main contact for external HSE bodies and inspections
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site

About You
The ideal candidate will have previous HSE experience within a manufacturing environment and be confident working in a standalone role.

You will ideally have:

• NEBOSH Certificate qualification minimum
• Manufacturing or industrial experience
• Good understanding of UK HSE legislation
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Environmental qualifications or further NEBOSH study would be beneficial but not essential.
