Mechanical Sweeper Driver, Londonderry County Borough

Staffline Recruitment are currently working in partnership with Causeway Coast and Glens Council recruiting for Mechanical Sweeper Drivers based in Various Locations. Hours of work : 37 hrs per week Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks£13.15 13 weeks + £14.13 Locations : Coleraine / Ballymoney / Limavady and Ballycastle Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the daily/weekly completion of specific work schedules and driving of specified Council vehicles in connection with Street Cleansing services within any given area of the Borough. Responsible for the safe, legal and efficient operation of specified vehicles to include adherence to the appropriate driving guidelines, legislation and appropriate codes of practice. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements. Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council. Full Job Description available on request Criteria: A full, current LGV driving licence Category C or C+E which enables you to drive in the UK. A full current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification. AND Demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, a minimum of 2 years' experience to include: Driving a Category C or C+E vehicle in a commercial or public sector environment. Dealing directly with members of the public, in person. Previous experience of keeping simple records. Previous experience instructing staff. Applicants must undertake a minimum of 35 hours driver CPC training during a five-year period to maintain their entitlement to drive.
