Year 11 Leader Birley Secondary Academy Long term Part time Start Asap The Supply Register are working exclusively with Birley Secondary Academy in Sheffield. We are recruiting for a Year 11 Leader to work on a part time long term basis starting asap. We are looking for someone ideally from a teaching assistant background. Key tasks: Promoting students' emotional, social and behavioural well-being at school both in class and out of class activities, based on clearly expressed and understood expectations of the students, with the use of learning / behaviour agreements and contracts as appropriate. Providing individual and group support for students - to develop self-confidence and self esteem and to promote positive attitudes to learning Lead on the home/carer - schools links where appropriate and agreed, including phone calls, letter, meetings and home visits Work with other pastoral support and teaching staff in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans / Behaviour Support Plans etc. to improve behaviour and engagement in learning Establish positive working relationships with students, acting as a positive role model Arrange and develop 1:1 mentoring with identified students and provide support for distressed students, liaising with other professionals and agencies to meet the diverse needs of young people Supporting Curriculum Leaders, teaching staff and tutors in reinforcing and implementing the Behaviour for Learning' policy and rewards systemsRequirements To hold a degree or equivalent qualification.
