Level 2 KS2 TA / Key Stage 2 teaching Assistant A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Level 2 KS2 TA / Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant in a good Primary school in Chesterfield. Do you hold a Level 2 NVQ certificate in Children?s Learning and Development or equivalent? Are you confident and passionate in teaching literacy and numeracy to KS2 pupils? Do you work brilliantly independently and as part of a team? The primary school in S4 has some challenging behaviour with EAL needs. The post is going to be full time until the end of the academic for the successful candidate. Trails for the position are going to be starting immediately. You will be working across the whole school but predominantly KS2 with some work in KS1. You will be based in a Y4 class every morning and 1 afternoon a week with the remaining afternoons spent in alternative classes where additional support is needed. The Y4 class that you will be based for the majority of the time, is known to be quite disruptive. A consistent approach with a firm but fair approach to behaviour management. The school has a fantastic behaviour policy to help support all members of staff for the most challenging children within the school. The Head Teacher is looking for someone with excellent classroom management, who teaches with an enthusiastic and nurturing approach and has high expectations of learning. Experience within Y6 is not necessary. You will be working alongside a fantastic key stage team who are highly supportive who love exciting and new faces. You will be required to support small groups to help with booster sessions as well as a small amount of 1:1 support however this will be sporadic due to moving around classes in the key stage depending on where the extra support is needed due to the diverse nature of the school. The school is seeking to appoint a strong, exciting and experienced KS2 TA / Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to support a vibrant year 4 class, with additional support elsewhere.
