HLTA – PE & Sports Specialist (Primary School)

£140 – £150 per day

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong PE and Sports background to join our dedicated team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident practitioner who is passionate about promoting physical education, healthy lifestyles, and positive learning experiences across the primary age range.

• Deliver high-quality PE and sports sessions across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Support teaching and learning across the wider curriculum when required
• Lead small group interventions and whole-class sessions
• Promote teamwork, resilience, and pupil wellbeing through sport
• Assist with school sports events, competitions, and extracurricular clubs
• Work closely with teachers and senior leaders to support pupil progress
• Provide classroom cover when necessary

• A recognised UK HLTA qualification or higher (essential)
• Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting
• A strong background in PE, sports coaching, or physical education
• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• The ability to engage and inspire children of all abilities
• A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

• Competitive daily rate of £140-£150 per day
