Key Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership, coaching, and direction to a team of household claims handlers and senior claims handlers.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end household claims process, ensuring timely and fair resolution.
• Maintain high quality standards, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.
• Track and analyse key performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Champion a customer‑first culture, ensuring a high level of service and positive customer outcomes.
• Produce and present regular reports on team performance, claims trends and operational KPIs.
• Support career development through mentoring, coaching and structured learning opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in claims assessment and approvals.
• Strong technical claims knowledge, including high‑value and complex cases.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability.

• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.

You’ll work within approved processes and authority limits, keep accurate and auditable records, protect data under UK GDPR and our information security policies, escape risks and exceptions promptly, report incidents, breaches and any financial crime or sanctions concerns (including via whistleblowing), support vulnerable customers with reasonable adjustments, and complete all mandatory training to maintain competence.
