The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of service across wards, departments and health centres, including catering, housekeeping, portering and laundry services. The role involves monitoring cleaning and catering standards, maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment that meets National Standards, and providing supervisory support to teams across all Hotel Services disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit all allocated areas and staff regularly to ensure compliance with National Standards.
  • Control and monitor the quality of work produced.
  • Order, monitor and issue materials and stock items.
  • Organise periodic or one-off duties such as deep cleans and stock monitoring.
  • Assist managers with recruitment, training, scheduling and other administrative tasks.
  • Handle emergency duties or staffing shortages as required.
  • Support and deputise for other Facilities Supervisors across all Hotel Services disciplines.
  • Ensure a complete understanding of all Facilities disciplines, working practices and procedures.
  • Provide information and guidance to supervisors in other disciplines to promote a consistent service.

Qualifications & Training
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Certificate in a related Facilities and Estates discipline, or proven practical knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in a similar role or discipline.
  • Suitable supervisory or management qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in the NHS.
Experience
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations such as COSHH and HACCP.
  • Experience of carrying out audits and monitoring.
  • Experience of completing and recording required documentation.
  • Experience of planning work rotas.
  • Experience of training staff.
  • Full understanding of own discipline policies, procedures, health and safety issues, risk assessments, and current plans.
  • Full understanding of all Hotel Services disciplines and trust policies and procedures.
  • Able to travel across the trust.

Salary

£25,760 to £27,476 per annum (pro‑rata).
