Main duties of the job

The role of Activities Driver at Avery Healthcare involves providing safe, timely, and courteous transportation for residents to and from various activities. The primary responsibility is to deliver quality service while transporting residents. Key tasks include providing transportation services, assisting residents with any special needs during transportation, such as carrying packages, opening doors, and helping residents onto and out of the vehicle. Drivers must also direct tasks and passenger interactions to onboard support staff while the vehicle is in motion and provide miscellaneous pickup and delivery services as needed.

Requirements

• A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a PCV license with Cat D1 and an acceptable driving record. Periodic Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training is also required. Candidates should be knowledgeable of all safety precautions and be able to react calmly in emergencies and be considerate. The ability to live Avery’s values of caring, support, honesty, respect, and accountability is essential.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
