What You Will Do

• Conductclinical assessmentsto ensure patients in custody are fit for detention, interview, transfer, or release.
• Manageminor illnesses or injuries, referring more serious conditions as appropriate.
• Performforensic examinations, recording injuries and collecting DNA evidence when required.
• Assess the fitness ofpolice officers or staffinjured while on duty and provide suitable care.
• Collect specimens under relevant legislation and ensure compliance with thePolice and Criminal Evidence Act.
• Compile and providewritten statementswithin specified timeframes and give oral testimony as required.
• Carry out thorough assessments ofalcohol and drug intoxication, withdrawal, mental health, and learning disabilities.
• Work alongside clinical leads to support the development of medical services and promote company policies such asEquality and DiversityandInformation Governance.
